Drone regulations in Poland

Maximum flight altitude: There are currently no restrictions on the flight altitude in Poland. We advise flying not higher than 150 meters.

Maximum horizontal distance and FPV: In Poland, drone flights are only allowed within the visual distance.

Compulsory insurance: A drone liability coverage is required for commercial multicopter users in Poland. We recommend the completion of a corresponding Police also for leisure-flyers.

Maximum take-off weight (MTOW): The maximum take-off weight is 25 kg.

Distance to airports: Without prior approval of the air traffic control system, you must keep 5 kilometers from airports.

Other safety distances: In Poland, please keep 100 meters to populated areas and 30 meters to persons, vehicles, and animals.

Flight bans: Flights over people, cities, streets, and buildings are not allowed.

Flight approval: An additional authorization from the Government Protection Bureau (BOR) is required for flights in Warsaw.

Regulations for commercial pilots: A complicated certification process (medical certificate, theoretical and practical test) is necessary for business drones flights. However, if you have already received a permit for ascent in an EU Member State, it will be recognized straightforward after a short mail change.
