Drone regulations in Myanmar (Burma)

At the moment, there are no laws about drones in Myanmar and the information I have received are very contradictory so far. According to a report in the Myanmar Times, corresponding drone laws are currently worked out. Although, the article is from September 2015.

Some local drone pilots complain that their equipment was confiscated or that they had to call at the military after a drone flight.

There are also different experiences of travelers. Some copter owners report that there is an import ban for drones. I regularly read reports of travelers who had to hand over their drone to the customs at their entry. The good news are that the travelers have got their copter back on leaving the country. I know from other friends, that they could easily enter and fly with a small Yuneec Breeze in Myanmar.

Because of the current uncertainties, I personally would take only one multicopter with me to Myanmar if I enter on the land way and a luggage control is unlikely. If this is not possible because of the route planning, I would also pack a small Selfie drone and leave the large copter at home.
